by Felipe Hueb
A work of photo collage is a visual representation of female strength in the face of adversity. The artist wanted to show stubbornness that makes the heroine of graphics invincible. Her defiant pose shows courage – holding her hands above her head in a display of invincibility and resilience.
Behind her head there is something like an anti-halo, symbolizing, along with the flames, her hellish side or the hostile environment in which she found herself. An unsettling, unnaturally twisted smile lingers on her despite the many wounds – holes that pierce her through. Even though her eyes are cut out, the observer has the impression that she is looking directly at him.
There is a mixture of female powers in the work, combined with the hellish dimension of her personality, which also connects to this terrifying, devilish side. An extremely interesting and ambiguous work that can be interpreted in many ways.
