by Jairo Guerrero
Maintained in warm, green-golden shades, the artwork clearly indicates two points that are shown as the brightest ones – a sphere reminiscent of a moon and a figure of a girl in a white dress. Despite these points, which could be considered as the most important ones, we also see a dilapidated, as if torn by an invisible force, house.
The melancholic nature of the painting stands in opposition to what really is going on in it. Looking at this painting we can feel a bit nervous, even though, paradoxically, the artwork exudes calmness. Perhaps it is because the luminous figure of the girl is so peaceful. Is that her house? Is she reconciled with its loss? Or maybe she is the perpetrator of its disappearance? The painting has many mysteries in itself that one would like to unravel, its intensity is therefore caused by the unknown that a human naturally wants to overcome through finding out.
